Band Biography

Mayflys are fronted by french born Aurelie Konter, whose voice, shaped by her travels around the world, gives Mayflys one of their unique sounds. With roots in differing genres, Mayflys' feel-good and catchy songs appeal to the ears of pop, dance and indie fans alike.

Following the success of their first self produced EP, Mayflys recently released their full line up follow up record Don't Mind If I Don't.

The band spawned from Mayfly Trio, an acoustic act which released an album in 2010. Since then, Mayflys have developed their sound to suit their new line up and combined with their friendly & humble approach are gaining more followers and friends with every outing. Their increasing reputation in the London and Bristol area has seen them perform at Ronnie Scotts, The Halfmoon and the 2000 Trees Festival.

Reviews

"A funk infused joy of wonder! Their most recent appearance at Two Thousand Trees festival drew in a huge crowd, who demanded for an encore! Truly outstanding musicianship and the best bit is that you could not ask for a nicer bunch of people" - Kit Kaboodle

"The sparkly come hither vocals combine sweetness with substance, purity with bite… While intricate guitar patterns and fluid bass keep the music consistently interesting …" - consequenceofsound.net

"London foursome the Mayflys are the sound of long hot summers, ice cream, summer dresses and freshly mown grass. If Don't Mind If I Don't hits the spot then you may want to head down to 93 Feet East, Brick Lane, London on 21st May for the launch of the band's debut album. Summer dresses optional." - The Devil Has The Best Tuna music blog

"Give the tracks a listen, guaranteed they'll be in your head within a couple days" - Tom Newell, Drawn Recordings
